Hunters On ham radio w/o license

Hi Terry

I still have a portable code plug to reload for the Officers.  I will make they have all of these fees and loan them one or two portables to try to catch them.  Let me know the times, days of week and crews you hear activity so I can try to have Officers try to run them down.

Good morning Don.  I think I have the right email address.  You are the Communications Officer for the Florida Game and Freshwater Fish Commission in Jacksonville if I have it correct.  Hunting season is here again and the hunters are out running deer here in North Florida with dogs.  They are spread all over the 2M weak signal band of Amateur Radio allocations.  Just this morning I hear them on 144.175, 144.200, 144.300, 144.440, 144.460, 144.500, 144.580, 144.740, 144.640 just as some examples.  I pick most of them up when pointing from NE to NW so are probably in the Lake Butler, Macclenny, Lake City areas.  I don’t even know if it is legal to hunt deer with dogs yet but they are doing so.  I would appreciate any help your officers could give in enforcing the state statutes making it a crime to operate on frequencies allocated to Amateur Radio by unlicensed operators.  Florida Statute 877.27 makes it a 3rd degree felony to operate without a license.
