« Last post by jon-km4eon on March 09, 2016, 04:50:01 PM »
New, got it for Christmas. Works like new but has a very narrow view-angle. Will make a good PC monitor. HDMI, cable, USB, VGA and component inputs. Power is 12vdc at 30w. Element brand from Walmart, $98 new. Asking $60. Would like to elevate it to a new home before it gets buried in the electronics corner   :D    March 9, 2016 - call 386-752-0987

How do you do that? / How to copy and paste text
« Last post by ron-kk4hgy on February 01, 2016, 02:30:05 PM »
COPY allows you to take a word, sentence or paragraph and copy it to somewhere else in the
document or to a different document.  This saves a lot of typing.  The original text remains where it is.

1.   Select* the text that you want to COPY
2.   Hold down the CTRL key and hit the C key to copy the text
3.   Place your cursor where you want the text to be copied
4.   Hold down the CTRL key and hit the V key to paste the text

Cut allows you to take a word, sentence or paragraph and MOVE it to somewhere else in the
document or to a different document.  This saves a lot of typing.  The original text is DELETED.

1.   Select* the text that you want to CUT
2.   Hold down the CTRL key and hit the X key to copy the text.  It will be deleted from its current position.
3.   Place your cursor where you want the text to be moved
4.   Hold down the CTRL key and hit the V key to paste the text

NOTE:  When using the CTRL key functions, first hold down the CTRL key and continue holding it down
while you press the C, X or V key, then release both keys.

Also note that once you post your message you can not use copy & paste or cut & paste until you go into edit mode by hitting the MODIFY button.

*Select
Text must be selected before you can copy it.  To select text, use your mouse to position the cursor on the left side of the first character that you want to select.  Hold the left mouse key down, and while it is down, move the mouse to the right to select text.  As the text is selected it will become highlighted.  Keep selecting until you reach the last character that you want to select.  If you go to far, you can move the mouse back to the left.  Once you have your text selected you can release the mouse button.  If you see that you have selected too much text, or not enough, you can move the cursor off the selected text and click the left mouse button.  This will un-select all text and you can begin again.  It might seem a little tricky at first, but with just a little practice it will be easy.

If you want to select several lines of text, position the cursor at the beginning and pull the mouse straight down.

If you want to practice you can go to the Testing 123 Testing board, create a new topic and practice, practice, practice.

Jim-KM4JSI, our newest General left his book with Richard after the test so we have the Tech, General and Extra books for anyone who wants to become a ham or upgrade their license.

I should be getting my Extra book tomorrow or the next day and I am anxious to dig into it.  Hopefully I will be ready to test at our next session in March.
