Post by: homer-ke5ndy on March 28, 2019, 01:01:17 PM
I was able to pick up a 50 ft rohn tower for $50 but i want to make a base so it will let down by undoing one leg and tilting it can anyone give me any advice on what and how use, also I need to know about how big and deep the concrete pad needs to be. Thanks going to get back on the air soon

Several listed on EBAY, kinda pricy but will give you some ideas. Sounds like you are getting closer.

I would be very cautious about trying to tilt a 50 foot tower.  At one time Rhon towers said that 30 feet is the max for Rohn 25.  Is this Rohn 20 or Rhon 25?  I suggest you do a search on tilting towers.  One suggestion I saw was to pace a telephone or power pole next to the tower and connect tables and pulleys at the 20 foot level.  Also type of antenna(s) you plan on putting up there is a factor.
